Is it normal that puberty feels different for everyone?

Some people start puberty early, others later. Is that normal? When should someone worry?

Yes—timing varies a lot and can still be completely normal. Genetics, overall health, and body type all play a role. A helpful rule: if changes are starting gradually and you’re generally well, it’s usually fine. It’s worth getting support if there are no puberty changes by the mid-teens, or if there’s fast, extreme change that feels worrying, or pain/swelling that doesn’t settle. If you’re unsure, a GP/health professional can reassure you.
